Product testing
To confirm the quality of the products supplied, KMZ Izhora-Metall conducts the following types of tests:
Mechanical tests:
- Tensile tests in the temperature range from -196°С to +1000°С
- Charpy impact tests for all types of samples in the temperature range from -196°C to +350°C
- Tests for measurement of crack growth rate conducted on all types of samples in the temperature range from -196°С to + 800°С
- Fatigue tests
- Drop weight tear test
- Special tests (electrical resistivity and magnetic permeability)
- Determination of creep-rupture strength and creep of materials
- Determination of the critical temperatures (e.g., t0) of alloys for nuclear power engineering
Metallographic control:
- Metallographic control of base metal, welded joints and weld deposits (control of macro - and microstructure)
- Detecting susceptibility to intergranular corrosion in products made from corrosion-resistant steels and alloys
- Determination of the corrosion resistance of stainless steels by the weight loss method
- Detecting susceptibility to pitting and crevice corrosion of stainless steels
- Determination of the ferrite phase content in austenitic steels by magnetic and metallographic methods
Chemical composition analysis:
- Determination of the chemical composition of steels, alloys, pure metals, cast irons, powder materials, including the determination of impurities and gases - nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen as well as diffusible hydrogen
Methods of nondestructive testing:
- Ultrasonic testing
- Ultrasonic thickness measurement
- Magnetic particle inspection
- Dye penetrant inspection
Tests are conducted in a certified, accredited research center, which has the most modern equipment.
